MUSKWOOD BURL/BURR
Olearia Argophylia Tasmania PS
One of the most beautiful woods from Tasmania. Has a smooth close even grain with burr or fiddleback figure.
When sawn it is violet in colour which turns to a yellow light brown colour, often with each component of the figure of burl material thinly bordered with a line of grey or light brown.
This gives a birds eye appearance and is often surrounded by fiddleback/rippled figure. The heartwood dries well with little degrade.
Each piece comes in the form of a square cut bowl blank which is marked with the original sawn weight.
